The DAF Trucks UK Annual Awards in Manchester earlier this month saw the Watts Truck & Van Ltd team walk away with the top awards.

The 112-strong team were named Top Performing Sales and Aftersales Dealer of the Year after achieving some tough standards.

The 2017 targets were set across a number of areas including, sales, finance and aftersales. The team achieved Category A Status in the programme for the second year running in Swansea, Cardiff and Newport.

In addition, the Cardiff Service & Regional Parts team won the DAF Sword of Excellence after finishing top of the 133 DAF dealers in the network with 100% achievement of all service and parts disciplines in 2017.

With an impressive 100% DVSA MOT first-time-pass-rate, the Watts Truck & Van service team are doing an outstanding job of keeping customers’ vehicles in good working condition on the road, helping them maintain their Operators Compliance Risk Score (OCRS) “in the green”.  The regional parts team consistently met their quarterly sales targets together with providing the highest customer service level, and on the back of this outstanding overall performance were named DAF Trucks UK Parts Dealer of the Year.

Hot on the heels of the awards came the news that DAF Trucks topped the UK new truck sales market for the 23rd year in succession, with a 30.6% share of the market, almost twice that of its closest competitor. DAF’s excellent dealer network contributes significantly in this respect, and DAF Trucks Managing Director Robin Easton said “Our dominant position in the UK market is the result of two key factors – a fantastic product range, which was completely updated last year, and which is already delivering productivity benefits for customers, and industry-leading services and support from our Dealer network.”

The DAF Dealer network recorded impressive statistics in 2017. It returned an overall 96.7% MOT first-time-pass-rate, with many dealers like Watts Cardiff achieving 100% for the year. The pass rate is even more impressive considering that the DAF Dealer network submitted 33,543 vehicles for MOT in 2017.

DAF’s customer support programme is further strengthened by continuous improvements to their industry-leading Technical Training scheme; there are more Technical Apprentices than ever before; a record number of 81,355 DAFaid jobs were responded to in 2017; and DAF Trucks UK is investing in a new Training Centre which is due to open in July 2018.

At Watts Truck & Van’s network of South Wales Dealerships   we operate from 3 parts distribution centres and our dedicated 13 delivery vehicles are committed to making 2 parts deliveries a day.
